About the program

Circle Y Ranch is a comprehensive program that provides an opportunity to experience a well-rounded camp program. The camp typically draws youth from urban circles and caters its programming to address the challenges and issues faced by this population. Circle Y Ranch offers a summer experience that many of us once knew when life and society was simpler, relationships were stronger, and family life was more solidified.

1. Spiritual:
   Youth need to learn how to explore their inner lives, to trust God, and develop a heart against ignorance, convention, injustice, and disappointment.
2. Educational:
   Youth must be provided challenging opportunities to grow, through relevant and exciting new ways that might not be available in the local communities or schools.
3. Social:
   Youth are given the opportunity to develop a strong sense of themselves, and establish close and reliable relationships with peers and adults. Adult and staff leadership models responsibility to their communities and their responsibility to take a role in society at large.
4. Physical:
   Youth must have opportunities to play in creative and structured spaces that are fun and without the threat of danger hovering over them.
5. Cultural:
   Youth must be given opportunities to develop cultural competence through exposure to music, art, nature and literature.
