Safety is Our Priority

We want Circle Y Ranch to be the best memory of our campers' summer. We screen our staff and volunteers carefully.

Our policy prevents campers from being left alone with a staff member or volunteer. We run criminal background checks on each of our staff and volunteers annually. We also implement a buddy system and a two-adult rule while youth are on our campgrounds. The two-adult rule requires campers to be within sight of two adults at any given time. This protects our campers and our staff. The buddy system partners each camper with a cabin mate throughout the entire week. Buddies are required to stay together during their time at the camp. This includes making trips to the bathroom as well as returning to their cabins during the day.

Emergency Procedures

Our staff is trained to protect our campers in the event of an emergency. We have a siren that enables the Camp Director to communicate with everyone on the campgrounds at any given time. Our staff monitors the weather throughout the day and we have weather shelters available if there is an immediate threat of severe weather. Our emergency plans cover scenarios such as fire, severe weather, unidentified camp intruder, and missing camper. We focus on accounting for and protecting our campers.

We have staff members trained in First Aid and CPR. Our lifeguards are CPR and Lifeguard certified by nationally recognized agencies. If necessary, local EMS is able to respond to our camp in less than 15 minutes.

Your Child's Health Matters

All campers are screened by our Health Officer within 24 hours of arrival. The Health Officer checks for communicable illness and signs of abuse. If a camper is found to be ill the Health Office will contact the legal guardian. Please do not send ill children to camp.

If necessary, a camper will be quarantined from other campers until he or she recovers or until arrangements are made for the camper to be picked up.

Health & Diet Restrictions

Our counselors monitor campers to ensure that they are well fed, hydrated, and using sunscreen. We also provide drinking water during our outdoor activities.

If your camper has a special diet or food allergies, our kitchen staff will ensure that food is prepared to meet his or her dietary needs. We also have a Health Officer onsite 24/hours a day to administer prescription and over the counter medications.
